The 10th film of Mohammad Rasoulof is a Cannes award-winning drama centred around an investigating judge in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, dealing with mistrust and increasing paranoia as nationwide political protests intensify and his gun mysteriously disappears. Suspecting the involvement of his wife and daughters, the judge imposes drastic measures at home, causing tensions to rise. After resisting pressure from the government of his native Iran to withdraw the film from Cannes, Rasoulof was fined and sentenced to a flogging plus eight years in prison but managed to flee the country along with some members of his film crew. He now lives in exile in Europe.
